The SODECA Technical Master in ventilation solutions design and applied engineering concluded last April, consolidating its growth with twice as many participants as in the previous edition. This specialised training programme reinforces SODECA’s commitment to advanced technical education for professionals in the ventilation, engineering and architecture sectors.
Through this initiative, participants can also obtain an international certification issued by TÜV Rheinland, a globally recognised certification organism in the technical and industrial fields.
Specialised technical training in ventilation systems
The master’s programme, with a total duration of 18 teaching hours, was delivered by SODECA technical specialists through a 100% online format distributed across six sessions throughout April.
The programme was aimed at engineers, architects, installers, consultants and professionals involved in the design and implementation of ventilation systems in buildings, providing a comprehensive technical overview of mechanical ventilation and smoke extraction systems.
Its main objective is to offer practical technical criteria for the design, sizing and correct implementation of ventilation solutions in accordance with current regulations.
Technical content focused on real-world applications
The programme covered several key areas related to mechanical ventilation and fire safety systems.
Main topics included:
- Fundamentals of ventilation system design and operation
- Smoke control and smoke extraction systems for industrial buildings
- Staircase and escape route pressurisation systems
- Ventilation systems for underground car parks
- Solutions for residential and non-residential buildings
- Energy efficiency and optimisation of ventilation installations
The programme also placed particular emphasis on sustainability and on improving the energy performance of ventilation systems, aspects that are becoming increasingly important in the design of buildings and infrastructures.
International TÜV Rheinland certification
In addition to the technical training, participants have the option to take an exam to obtain a competency certificate issued by TÜV Rheinland.
The German certification body is one of the world’s leading providers of technical services and certifications. Its competency certifications are internationally recognised as a guarantee of technical excellence and professional rigour in accordance with demanding certification standards.
To facilitate access to this accreditation, SODECA offers grants to fund the costs of the exam, reinforcing its commitment to continuous training and the development of highly qualified professionals.
A space for technical exchange and discussion
Carlos Martínez, Learning Manager at SODECA and trainer of the master’s programme, described this year’s edition as “a great success in terms of participation” and highlighted the high technical level of the sessions and the exchange of experiences between professionals.
According to Martínez, the programme generated “very interesting discussions regarding the technical challenges that designers and consultants face in their daily work”.
This practical approach, focused on real technical scenarios, allows the training programme to become a valuable working tool for engineering firms, installers and technical consultants.
